Braves Vs. Padres Score: Two Early Homers Puts Atlanta Ahead Through Three Innings, 3-0

Two early home runs have propelled the Braves to a 3-0 lead through three innings against the Padres.

The first was a two-run home run by Chipper Jones in the first inning following a Jason Heyward walk. The two RBIs gave him 1,509 for his career, tying him with Mickey Mantle for 50th all time. This comes just a day after he recorded his 500th career double. The milestones seem to be racking up the day.

The second home run came in the second inning when David Ross turned on a high fastball to the upper level in left field for a solo shot. This gave Atlanta a three-run lead.

Jair Jurrjens is working very efficiently, throwing three scoreless innings on three soft singles with no walks and one strikeout. He threw just 11 pitches in the first two innings, including 10 strikes. He sits at 26 with 21 strikes through three innings. He has induced four groundouts to three flyouts.
