Roger McDowell Likely To Be Suspended, Not Fired, According To Report

Via Ken Rosenthal, Braves pitching coach Roger McDowell is "all but certain to be suspended by MLB."

Despite a likely suspension, it is unlikely that McDowell is fired, according to Rosenthal.

This news of McDowell likely being suspended is not surprising. It's probably safe to say most believed a suspension would come from this eventually. He was placed on administrative leave this weekend until the Braves and MLB complete an investigation into what happened.

The allegations are McDowell made gay slurs and threats towards Giants fans in San Francisco during last week's road trip. Fan Justin Quinn came out with the allegations and held a press conference with attorney Gloria Allred leading the way and Quinn's twin daughters joining them.

The accusations by Quinn included making a sexual gesture with a bat, as well as hurling gay slurs and threats to what McDowell called "heckling fans."

McDowell apologized on Wednesday.
