Braves Vs. Phillies Score: Atlanta Jumps To 3-0 Lead Through Four Innings

After two scoreless innings to start the game, the Braves broke through in the third with three runs off Cliff Lee to take a 3-0 lead, where it remains through four innings.

The Braves put runners on first and second with no outs to start the game in the first, but the middle of the order went down on two strikeouts and a flyout. They picked themselves up the second time through the order, this time all with two outs. Alex Gonzalez doubled off the wall and scored on a Chipper Jones single off the glove of Jimmy Rollins. Brian McCann doubled home Chipper from first base with a deep shot to left center, and Dan Uggla doubled home McCann with a liner down the left field line.

Gonzalez is already 2-2 with a double and run scored. The top five hitters in the lineup have all of the hits and runs.

This is a mirrored outing for Lee, who has grooved several fastballs and cutters down the middle, especially in the three-run third. He has allowed three runs on six hits in four innings, but he also has eight strikeouts.

Derek Lowe is a little off with the control, throwing few first-pitch strikes and running deep counts, but he has yet to allow a hit through four innings, walking one with three strikeouts. He has five groundouts to three flyouts. He struck out the side in the fourth.
