MLB All-Star Game Voting Update: Brian McCann Increases Lead, Chipper Jones Needs Help

Major League Baseball released the final voting update for this year's All-Star Game and a few Atlanta Braves were on the list.

After being snubbed for multiple years, Brian McCann is finally going to be named a starter for the Mid-Summer Classic. McCann, who currently has more than three million votes, leads Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina by more than a million votes and has all-but-clinched himself the starting spot baring something wild. Congratulations, Brian. You've earned it.

Chipper Jones has made a big push in recent weeks, but he remains in second place among National League third baseman and sits more than a million votes behind Phillies third baseman Placido Polanco. While one final All-Star game would've been great for Chipper, four days of rest would probably be even better.

As far as pitchers go, one would have to imagine Bruce Bochy selecting at least a few members from the Braves' pitching staff. Tommy Hanson has been one of the better starting pitchers in baseball and is returning from the disabled list after missing two weeks with an inflamed shoulder. Despite a meltdown on Sunday afternoon, Jonny Venters remains as the best reliever in the National League and Craig Kimbrel should get a good look as well.
