TV coverage of the 2011 MLB Draft begins on MLB Network and at MLB.com at 6 pm ET, but the actual event gets underway at 7 pm ET. Review the first night's complete draft order here, which includes the Atlanta Braves picking No. 28 and seemingly hundreds of Tampa Bay Rays picks.
Minor League Ball's John Sickels has a list of the top 40 prospects, though we'll be darned if he didn't also include a few more than 40 -- Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets star Jed Bradley makes the cut, as does McIntosh High's Dwight Smith Jr. Both Talking Chop and SB Nation Atlanta have come up with lists of players the Braves are likely to target, with pretty much everybody agreeing pitching is the move.
For more on the 2011 MLB Draft, which begins at 7 pm ET, follow along with Baseball Nation's previews and live draft coverage and Minor League Ball's prospect reports. Talking Chop and SB Nation Atlanta will have analysis of the Atlanta Braves' No. 28 pick, which is expected to be a high school pitcher as is custom.
