Hanson reportedly suffered a mild concussion in the accident, and given recent scientific discoveries about the dangers of head injuries, the Braves are likely to be extremely cautious in bringing one of their most promising young pitchers back into action.
At this point, it does not seem like the 6'6 220 right-hander will be out a significant amount of time, but it's extremely hard to gauge the severity of these types of injuries.
Minnesota Twins 1B Justin Morneau has played in only 150 games over the last two years due to the after-effects of a concussion while Red Sox SP Josh Beckett missed less than a week after a similar injury last season.
