2012 Braves Opening Day Schedule: Tommy Hanson Likely To Start

While Major League Baseball celebrates its official April 5 Opening Day a week early in Japan (we think), the Atlanta Braves are still shuffling their rotation in time for next week's season opener against the New York Mets.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Dave O'Brien is reporting that Tommy Hanson is the likeliest pick for Opening Day after manager Freddie Gonzalez shuffled the Spring Training rotation to start Hanson Sunday against Detroit, his last outing before the regular season.

O'Brien estimates the rotation could go the order of Hanson, Jair Jurrjens, Mike Minor and Brandon Beachy, with Randall Delgado in the fifth spot over Julio Teheran. Tim Hudson is still recovering from back surgery and estimated to return to the lineup sometime in late April or early May. Hudson will throw for two innings on Monday against the Mets.
