Tim Hudson Injury Update: Braves Pitcher Trying To Get Back In Lineup

Atlanta Braves pitcher Tim Hudson saw the impact that Chipper Jones made to the lineup when he returned from injury, so it's Hudson's hope that he can make a similar comeback.

During the offseason, Hudson underwent surgery for a herniated disk and since then has been making his recovery in the Braves minor league farm system. It was reported that Hudson would make his return to the Braves on May 1 after his minor league stint, but the veteran could be back even sooner.

With at least two more rehab outings, Hudson could return on April 27 against the Pirates at the earliest. Or if the Braves give him an extra day here or there, he could return later in that home stand against the Pirates or Phillies. - David O'Brien

Hudson is feeling better but his performance has been sort of up and down. He gave up nine hits and five runs in four innings Thursday night in Rome in his second rehab showing. However, he did throw 45 of his 62 pitches for strikes, with no walks, one strikeout and one wild pitch.
