The Atlanta Braves look to continue their recent surge as they open a four-game series with the Pittsburgh Pirates Friday night at Turner Field.

The Atlanta Braves hope to continue their recent surge when they open a four-game series Friday night with the Pittsburgh Pirates at Turner Field. Atlanta went 5-2 on its seven-game road trip that was capped off by Wednesday's 4-2 come from behind win in Los Angeles.

The Braves can equal their best home start in Turner Field history tonight with a win tonight over the 8-10 Pirates. Atlanta is 5-1 at home this season and a win would match the 6-1 start that the 1997 team had during Turner Field's inaugural season.

Tommy Hanson will take the mound tonight for the Braves and will be opposed by new Pittsburgh right hander A.J. Burnett
