Atlanta Braves Vs. St. Louis Cardinals: Saturday Probables, TV Schedule, And More

A night after winning a wild extra inning affair, the Atlanta Braves look to take the series against the defending World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday night.

Brandon Beachy, who has been nothing short of magnificent this year, will start for the Braves as he looks to cool down St. Louis' hot offense. Beachy is 3-1 with a 1.62 ERA and .95 WHIP on the young season. Opponents are hitting just .190 off of Beachy, and he's allowed just one home run in 39 innings on the season.

Atlanta's offense will face off against a former farmhand, as the Cardinals will send 2006 World Series hero Adam Wainwright to the mound. Though he's 2-3 with a 5.61 ERA, Wainwright has pitched well recently. Wainwright currently owns a 1.28 WHIP and has struck out 34 while issuing just seven walks in 33.2 innings of work, but has been undone by the long ball, as he's given up seven homers so far in 2012.

Televised coverage can be found on Fox Sports South as well as MLB Network. First pitch is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. ET.
