Braves vs. Marlins Score: Mike Minor Struggles Again As Atlanta Falls 8-4

The struggles for Mike Minor continued on Wednesday night against a red-hot Marlins team. Despite being staked to an early 1-0 lead, Minor lasted just 4.2 innings after allowing six runs on six hits and three walks. His record dropped to 2-3 on the season and his ERA is now 7.09.

Mark Buehrle settled in nicely after a rough first inning and worked six frames of four-run ball. He struck out four and allowed just one walk. The Marlins' bullpen pitched three innings of scoreless relief.

Miami rallied for three runs in the fourth inning that was sparked by a two-run double from Austin Kerns. Jose Reyes stole home to steal a run in the fifth, and then Emilio Bonifacio drove in another run with an RBI-single to right field.

The Braves cut the deficit to 6-4 in the bottom of the sixth, but Cristhian Martinez promptly surrendered a two-run homer to Giancarlo Stanton to give Miami a commanding 8-4 lead. Stanton also robbed Jason Heyward of what would have been a two-run triple in the second inning with a phenomenal sliding catch in the fourth.

Atlanta will look to split the two-game series on Thursday evening. Brandon Beachy will take the mound and will be opposed by Ricky Nolasco.
