Florida-Native Chipper Jones Will Have Plenty Of Fans Saturday

While there are few who would root against Chipper Jones in any park, there will be plenty cheering for him in Tampa on Saturday.

Tampa is the closest MLB city to Jones' hometown of Pierson, Fla., so as many as 100 people will be making the trip to Tropicana Field, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

"They're getting a big 50-seat bus and bringing it down, tailgating, all kinds of stuff," Jones said. "So if you hear a bunch of rednecks up in the rafters, that's my crew."

Over his 19-year career, Jones has played 12 games in Tropicana Field. In fact, Jones made his MLB debut six years before the Tampa Bay Devil Rays were created. He's done well against the Rays in his career, hitting .375 with nine homers in 20 total games.

As all opponents have done for the final time Jones comes through the city, the Rays will have a video tribute for him in Sunday's finale.
