Braves Vs. Rays Final Score: Atlanta Takes 5-3 Win In Series Opener

Freddie Freeman and Martin Prado continued their hot streaks and Tommy Hanson turned in a solid performance on the mound as the Atlanta Braves defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 5-3 in the opening game of a three-game set.

Freeman finished with two hits and two hits and two RBIs including his 11th double of the season. Prado also had two hits including a homer in the seventh to put the Braves up 5-2. Brian McCann also had two hits on the evening and drove in a run. Luke Scott went 3 for 3 for the Rays and drove in two of Tampa's three runs.

Tommy Hanson picks up the win after allowing six hits and two runs over seven innings of work. Hanson struck out three and walked two while improving his record to 5-3 on the season. Craig Kimbrel worked a perfect ninth to earn his 12th save of the season.

James Shields gets tagged with the loss after allowing four runs and seven hits in six innings. Shields struck out eight and walked three.
