Atlanta Braves star veteran Chipper Jones was injured in the team's victory against the Tampa Bay Rays Friday night when ball ricocheted off his left shin in the third inning of the game.
Jones stayed in the game until a pinch hitter came in for him in the eighth inning, but the damage was done. Still, he kept it light-hearted with the media following the game.
#Braves Chipper has grotesquely swollen, discolored contusion above left ankle. "It's safe to say my career in Tampa is over," he cracked.

As noted at the Talking Chop blog, the Rays should breathe a sigh of relief if this is truly Jones' last visit there. Chipper has hit .352/.400/.685 in Tampa for his career.
