Jason Heyward Injury: Sore Oblique Sidelines Braves Right Fielder

The Atlanta Braves could be without right fielder Jason Heyward through at least Thursday because of a sore oblique muscle. Heyward wasn't able to do much in the form of baseball activities on Tuesday so it is possible that he may not be able to return until Thursday at the earliest.

"I feel a lot better but I'm still not allowed to do anything," Heyward said. "I've still got some tenderness. It is an oblique, so I do have to be careful. I may not be able to play tomorrow. We'll see. I've got to be smart about it though."

Heyward was talking about Wednesday in the quote but the Braves will no doubt err on the side of caution with the outfielder. Heyward is hitting .273 on the season with two homers and nine RBIs to go along with eight stolen bases. He had been slumping of late with just two hits in his last 15 at bats.
