Braves vs. Reds Preview: Atlanta Heads To Cincinnati For Four-Game Series

Not a whole lot has changed since the Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Reds met last week. Atlanta split a two-game series with the Marlins and then won two out of three against the very talented Rays, and the Reds split a series with the Mets and took two games against the Yankees. With Cincinnati getting hot the last few weeks and the Cardinals slumping, the Reds now hold a half-game lead over St. Louis in a weak NL Central.

The Cincinnati lineup is anchored by Joey Votto and Jay Bruce, both of which are having phenomenal seasons at the plate. Their pitching is what has carried the club thus far, and it appears that flamethrower Aroldis Chapman has taken over the closer duties for the time being. With this series being four games, the Braves will see all of the Reds' starters other than Johnny Cueto.

Again, nothing has really changed with Cincinnati since they arrived in Atlanta last week. The team is playing their best baseball of the season right now. Expect similar lineups and appearances out of the bullpen this week from rainy Great American Ballpark.
