The Braves are looking to salvage their series with Cincinnati after losing two straight , partly due to Mike Minor's struggles in the first outing and the absence of Chipper Jones and Brian McCann in the second. Jones (left calf) and McCann (illness) are day-to-day and could return Wednesday. In their absence, leadoff hitter Michael Bourn has continued his hot hitting streak, hitting two solo home runs on Tuesday in the 4-3 loss, the first multi-homer game of his career. Bourn's success at the plate normally insures an Atlanta win - they're 15-4 when he has two or more hits this season.
