Braves Extend Losing Streak To Seven Games Following 7-2 Loss

The Braves went winless this past week, sealed by a bad 7-2 loss on Sunday Night Baseball. Atlanta took an early 2-0 lead against Geo Gonzalez and the Nationals, but Washington rallied in the middle innings against Brandon Beachy and the Braves' suddenly-awful bullpen and cruised to the finish line.

The Nats tied the game in the fourth with an RBI-single from Jesus Flores and tied the game up on a sacrifice fly from Gonzalez at the plate. After hitting the first batter he faced in the sixth inning Beachy was pulled in favor of Livan Hernandez, who promptly surrendered a walk, RBI-single, sacrifice bunt, two-RBI double, and then an RBI-single to Ryan Zimmerman to make the score 6-2 following a strikeout of Bryce Harper.

Harper got his revenge in the top of the eighth with a deep homer to right-center field to extend the lead to 7-2.

Michael Bourn, Dan Uggla and pinch-hitter Juan Francisco accounted for the Braves' three hits on the night. Atlanta made two errors, as well.

The Braves will face the Cardinals beginning Monday afternoon. The team is winless on Mondays this season and the availability of Brian McCann and Freddie Freeman is still unknown, so you probably shouldn't hold your breath.
