Braves Vs. Cardinals Final Score: Atlanta Drops 8-2 Decision To Redbirds

The struggles continued for the Atlanta Braves on Monday when the defending World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals handed them an 8-2 loss, which extended the Atlanta losing skid to eight games.

Atlanta has given up seven runs or more in four straight games. This is the worst Braves losing streak in over two years, when they lost nine in a row from April 21-29, 2010.

Cardinals pitcher Lance Lynn improved his record to 8-1 on the young season, while holding the Braves to two runs on five hits in seven innings of work.

St. Louis scored four runs in the third inning and another pair in both the fourth and sixth innings.

Daniel Descalso hit a two-run blast as a fill-in starter at third base for David Freese, who was given a day off due to mild sprain of his right hand.
