Cardinals Vs. Braves: Atlanta Still Winless On Mondays

Not only did the Atlanta Braves' losing streak reach eight games but their record for the season on Monday's reached 0-8. Monday's loss was particularly ugly as Tommy Hanson struggled, the defense was suspect and the once potent offense is misfiring from pretty much top to bottom.

Another interesting number is 7-19 which is the Braves' record without Chipper Jones in the lineup. They are 19-5 when he starts but he is on the disabled list at least until early June with a leg contusion. Jones .307 average and steady glove at third would certainly be a shot in the arm for the team but it his calming influence that the team might be missing the most.

Atlanta looks timid on the mound and at the plate where it feels like one mistake is likely to cost themselves a game. That look has been there for over a week now and isn't showing any signs of disappearing anytime soon.
