Phillies Vs. Braves Final: Atlanta Loses 4-0

The Atlanta Braves could do nothing against Joe Blanton on Thursday, as one of the least heralded members of the Philadelphia Phillies pitching staff threw an absolute gem of a game.

Joe Blanton allowed only three base-runners in a complete game shutout with 6 K's and 0 BB's. Perhaps most impressively, he did this all in only 88 pitches, briskly mowing through the Atlanta order three times.

His dominant performance overshadowed a fine day from Braves starter Ramon Delgado, who went 8 innings while giving up only 6 hits and 2 earned runs.

The stars of the day for the Phillies were Shane Victorino and Hunter Pence, who knocked in 3 of the team's 4 runs on Thursday.

It was all frustration on the Atlanta side, as Michael Bourne, Freddie Freeman and David Ross were the only players to reach base.
