Brandon Beachy looks to continue his excellent 2012 campaign on Saturday night, as the Atlanta Braves play host to the Baltimore Orioles, in the second game of a three-game interleague set.
Beachy has been one of the best pitchers in baseball this year, despite a rather mediocre 5-4 record. Beachy has a sparkling 1.98 ERA and 1.00 WHIP, and he's held opposing hitters to an amazing .178 batting average against.
Saturday will be Beachy's first start since June 8, when he experienced elbow soreness and diminished velocity against the Blue Jays.
Atlanta's bats will face off against Jason Hammel, who brings a 6-2 record into the contest. Hammel has pitched well for the Orioles, as he is the owner of a 3.22 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and .238 BAA headed into Saturday's contest.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. ET at Turner Field in Atlanta. Televised coverage can be found on FOX, which renders MLB.tv useless, as all nationally televised games are blacked out.
