Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Jason Hammel was eight outs away from no-hitting the Atlanta Braves, but his quest for a no-no was broken up by Jason Heyward in the seventh inning. Hammel had eight strike outs and the Braves batters could do nothing against him in Saturday's 5-0 loss.
The Braves had a pitching duel going as Brandon Beachy did not allow a hit through 3.2 innings, but he left the game with soreness in his right elbow. The soreness in his elbow is the same reason that Beachy was given a few extra days off between starts to rest his elbow.
After that is when the Orioles offense came to live as they knocked around Anthony Varvaro and Cristhian Martinez for two runs each.
