Atlanta Braves Release Livan Hernandez

Atlanta Braves pitcher Livan Hernandez had been designated for assignment by the team. On Tuesday, according to the official Braves transactions page on the team website, the veteran has been given his unconditional release.

The page mentions that the veteran has no intention of retiring, despite being released by the Houston Astros in March and by the Braves this week. Although he may have difficulty finding a third team to land with this season, it is not out of the question that someone would want to take a look at Hernandez.

This has been quite a year for veterans looking to be given a chance with an MLB team. Hernandez joins Jamie Moyer, Vladimir Guerrero, Manny Ramirez and Miguel Tejada, among others, as former All-Stars looking to continue their careers with anyone who will take them.
