2012 MLB Mock Draft: Atlanta Braves Select D.J. Davis With No. 21 Pick

A lot of pre-draft projections have the Atlanta Braves taking Tyler Naquin with the 21st overall pick in the 2012 MLB Draft on Monday, but Baseball America's most recent mock as the Braves passing on Naquin and selecting D.J. Davis.

Seems like Atlanta's most coveted prospect, David Dahl, will be gone before the first 10 picks are up. This mock has him going to the Pittsburgh Pirates at the No. 8 pick.

Check out what BA wrote on the Davis selection here:

Most of the names tied to Atlanta are position players, such as Davis, (Stephen) Piscotty, Texas A&M outfielder Tyler Naquin and California high school infielder Tanner Rahier. The Braves covet Dahl but have no chance at him, though they could have interest in fellow Alabama prep outfielder Sam Gillikin. They also could be the high-water mark for Florida lefthander Brian Johnson.
