With the No. 179 overall pick, the Braves selected right fielder Blake Brown, a 6'0, 185-pound player who is a junior at the University of Missouri.
The analysis of Brown is that he has good bat speed and some power. He was an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention following his 2011 season, when he finished his first year as a starter with a slash line of .267/.397/.449 and led the team with seven home runs.
