The Atlanta Braves have been a streaky offensive team for the most part during 2012 and their offense has started to come around once again during the six game win streak. On Saturday the Braves battled back after falling behind 7-5 in the seventh and recorded three two-out hits to take the lead in the eighth.
Fredi Gonzalez talked after the game about the offensive resurgence and how this time it is a group of hitters and not just one person carrying the load.
"I think the whole top of the order, you've [Michael] Bourn, [Martin] Prado, Jason [Heyward], Chipper, Freeman, you see [McCann] is starting to come to life. That's a pretty good top six guys there. Dan [Uggla] got a knock. If we get all those guys firing on all cylinders, it's a pretty long lineup you have to get yourself through."
Given the problems at shortstop and the inconstancies on the mound a few extra runs will go a long way as the Braves try to chase down the Washington Nationals during the second half of the season.
