Ben Sheets solid debut in a Braves uniform likely doesn't change anything in the team's pursuit for another starter for the rotation. Atlanta continues to be rumored as one of the teams that are interested in acquiring Milwaukee's Zack Greinke.
They very much like Greinke, and he has affinity for Atlanta as well. That's a spot where he could settle down (another bonus: they train in Orlando, his hometown). They have the prospects, especially young pitchers, for a deal.
The Braves have the young arms and prospects to get a deal done with the Brewers but it comes down to whether or not Atlanta might want to risk giving up valuable pieces for what could turn out to be a rental. Greinke will command a large contract probably somewhere in the neighborhood of $20 million per season next year and that is always a concern for the Braves.
Still opportunities to add 28 year old top of the rotation pitchers don't come along often and his presence might be enough to put the Braves over the Nationals in the NL East.
