Ryan Dempster Trade To Braves At '50-50'

Cubs pitcher Ryan Dempster appeared to be traded to the Braves earlier in the day, then not traded. There are some holdups, but it isn't clear what they are. A source told CBS that the trade could go either way.

"It could happen, or it could blow up,'' another person said.

It isn't clear what the holdup is, as several sources suggested the trade was on the verge of happening earlier in the day.

In any case, the momentum for the deal is said to have slowed quite a bit.

Dempster has the right to veto the trade, but no one seems to know if that's the reason for the holdup.

The Braves would send heralded pitching prospect Randall Delgado to the Cubs.
