The fiasco that is the Chicago Cubs trying to trade starting pitcher Ryan Dempster just got a little more interesting. The veteran right-hander has been fighting hard against a trade to the Atlanta Braves who have had the most attractive offer for his services thus far.
It appears that the Cubs want to get this deal done so badly that they've decided to up the ante, literally, according to Joel Sherman, baseball columnist for the New York Post:
