Braves Are Interested In Rockies Reliever Rafael Betancourt

The Atlanta Braves are one of a few teams that are interested in acquiring Colorado Rockies relief pitcher Rafael Betancourt. The Braves have been looking at acquiring more pitching as the trade deadline approaches, and their recent deal with Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Ryan Dempster has been an off again and on again situation.

Landing Betancourt would bolster the Braves bullpen as he has a 2.92 ERA, converted 17 of 21 save chances, 38 strike outs in 37 innings of work.

The other teams that are interested in Betancourt are the Texas Rangers, Toronto Blue Jays and the Boston Red Sox. There is still one more year left on his contract which is worth $4.25 million and in 2014 Betancourt has a mutual option in place.
