Andrelton Simmons left Sunday's win over the Phillies with a hand injury and has been diagnosed with a fracture of the fifth metacarpal on his right hand. He will see a doctor tomorrow where a course of treatment will be decided.

The news certainly doesn't sound good for the Braves who have saw their middle infield defense solidified with the arrival of Simmons. He also hasn't been a slouch at the plate either where he was hitting .292 with three homers and 15 RBIs coming into Sunday's game. Jack Wilson replaced Simmons at short in the sixth inning but if Simmons is out for any length of time it could mean the return of Tyler Pastornicky from Triple-A.
