Marlins Vs. Braves: Positives To Be Taken From Ben Sheets Outing

Ben Sheets suffered his first loss in a Braves uniform Wednesday night but the righthander settled down after a tough first and pitched into the seventh inning for the first time this season. While Sheets clearly wasn't happy about his performance but the fact that he continues to report no physical problems is a huge plus for the Braves going forward.

"I got to the seventh, I'm going to take some positives out of it. It stinks [that] the first inning was the game. After that I threw the ball well. I thought I was throwing OK early, but just didn't make enough pitches."

"It stinks when you're riding a long winning streak and the first inning I gave them the momentum right out the gate, the momentum that we earned over seven games."

With the Nationals also losing on Wednesday night, the Braves remain 2.5 games off of the division lead. Atlanta closes out its four-game set with the Marlins on Thursday and then has six games against last place Houston and Philadelphia which should enable them to keep the pressure on the Nationals.
