A late-season, three-game set between the Atlanta Braves and Washington Nationals begins Friday as the Braves send Kris Medlen to the mound to take on the National League East-leading Nationals in Atlanta at 7:35 p.m.
The Braves have fallen well behind the Nationals, as Washington has extended its lead in the division to 8.5 games as the season comes to a close. The Braves, however, look to continue to hold the top Wild Card spot in the National League as they come to less than 20 games remaining in the season.
Washington has gone 5-1 against the Braves when visiting Turner Field, and will look to improve on that record as tit sends Ross Detwiler to the mound to take on a Braves lineup that was quiet against the Milwaukee Brewers in the Braves' three-straight losses to start the week.
Atlanta was only able to muster three runs in the three games, and will look to come back alive against Washington pitching.
Date and Time: Friday, Sept. 14, 7:35 p.m.
