Atlanta Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said Wednesday that he would start either Kris Medlen or Tim Hudson in a potential wild card game. The Braves are five games behind the Nationals in the NL East, making the Wild Card a likely destination at this point.

Under the expanded playoff format, the two Wild Card teams meet in a one-game playoff, with the winner advancing to a division series. If the season ended today, the Braves would host the St. Louis Cardinals in the NL Wild Card game.
Hudson is 15-6 with a 3.77 ERA in 26 starts this season. He's struck out 94 and walked 46 over 164-2/3 innings. Medlen is 9-1 with a 1.51 ERA over 10 starts.
