After stealing home-court advantage from the Indiana Fever in Game 1 of the WNBA Eastern Conference Semifinals, the Atlanta Dream return to Phillips Arena for a close-out game to advance to the conference finals.
It was important for Atlanta to come out with an exceptional effort in the first game. Here's what Lindsey Harding had to say about the victory, courtesy of the Associated Press:
"We definitely wanted to punch first," Harding said. "This is a team that usually has very good first and third quarters with running. We knew that we had to not just match it, but overpower (them)."
Fever guard Katie Douglas said her team needs to come out with more of a sense of urgency and start with more confidence, which could be difficult after losing home-court advantage.
Despite the Fever finishing three games ahead of the Dream this season, Atlanta can end this rematch from last season's Eastern Conference Finals in two games to make its third consecutive trip to the conference championship. Sunday's game begins at 4 p.m. ET and will be shown on ESPN2.
