The Atlanta Falcons are the best team in the NFC. You can't argue with the Unbiased Power Rankings because they are unbiased and therefore all-knowing. They did slip into Tier II this week, not because they moved down but simply because the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers have played tremendously tough schedules. The Falcons remain in third but it's hard to move up when you play the Browns.
Methodology: We use a simple system. You get five points for a win. You also get five points for each game a defeated opponent wins. No points for a loss because life is tough. I'm trying to prepare you.

The Arizona Cardinals, New York Giants and Washington Redskins were the biggest risers this week, gaining eight spots. The Kansas City Chiefs fell 11 spots - the biggest decline this week - after their loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
This week is the first week most of the experts have dropped the New Orleans Saints behind the Falcons in the power rankings but if you've followed the Unbiased Rankings since they debuted, you would have already known they are not in the same class this season.
As these rankings shape up, the NFL Network's Thursday night game in Week 10 between the Falcons and Ravens could not only be a tremendous game but just might be the Super Bowl preview.
