Drew Brees And Josh Freeman: NFC South Quarterbacks Uniting Against Matt Ryan

That's how I'm choosing to read it, at least.

↵

Pat Yasinkas has a word with Drew Brees about the Saints passer's offseason workouts with Tampa Bay quarterback Josh Freeman:

↵
Yeah, the fact that he’s in the division and I’ve got to face him twice a year and that kind of thing, that makes it interesting,’’ Brees said. "But it’s not like we’re trading secrets. We’re just working out together, watching each other work and kind of pushing each other a little bit. In the end, I think it makes us both better.

Obviously they couldn't invite a quarterback from Carolina, since the Panthers just run the wildpanther every play.

↵

They don't? Then how do you explain their passing stats?

↵

Oh. I'm sorry.

Anyway, the only NFC South starting quarterback not included in the Brees-Freeman summit: our own Matt Ryan. There's no other way to read this, so long as you only choose to look at it one way: the rest of the NFC South is so terrified of Matt Ryan that each team has agreed to meld portions of its quarterbacks into one robot-man, eventually creating a -- well, Drew Breeman is basically just a much taller Drew Brees.
