Falcons WR Roddy White, via the AJC:
“Those are my teammates and I’ll defend them for anything,” White continued. “When we’re out there on Sunday, I’m out there with them. And if they knock [Bengals WR Chad Ochocinco] out of the game, who cares?”
Fewer than 24 hours after Falcons CB Dunta Robinson was fined, along with the rest of the NFL, for a hit that knocked out another player, that last bit is the kind of language that’s going to catch ears around league offices.
After Bengals WR Chad Ochocinco’s meh Twitter jabs and buzz boring prank shipment to Falcons defensive backs, White has had enough.
Also from the same AJC article:
“That’s not cool. It’s just disrespectful. Just going out on a limb and doing a bunch of things like that. He’s a funny guy … but guys take stuff like that personally. For us, personally, on offense, we’re going to try to run the score up on them, whatever the circumstances are in the game.
This stuff is supposed to get in an opponent’s head, but Ochocinco’s stunt seems pretty harmless, in a buzz brand niche guru sort of way. Falcons CB Brent Grimes and FS Thomas DeCoud say they haven’t heard about it and don’t care. But White sure does — and from the language he’s using, it’s clear Ochocinco’s stupid gimmick has worked to some degree.
For his part, Ochocinco joins Eagles WR DeSean Jackson in not knowing who Brent Grimes is:
Not sure of the names of #20 ,#21 and #29 but they’ve great quickness, hips n transition n are rarely out of position to make break ups
