Welcome to the Week 8 Starts and Sits, NFC South version. The Atlanta Falcons are off this week but the rest of their division plays on as the Carolina Panthers visit the St. Louis Rams. Which players will make solid fantasy plays and which ones should you leave on your bench? We deliver the answers in easy to chew, bite-sized pieces.
Start
Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart - DeAngelo Williams is doubtful to play against the Rams, opening the door for Stewart to see a full load of carries. The stats are not promising: the Panthers rank 26th in rushing and the Rams have played well allowing only two rushing touchdowns to opposing running backs this season. Still, something tells me the Panthers are going to establish the ground game in this one and Stewart will be the primary beneficiary.
Honorable Mention: Panthers WR Steve Smith
Sit
Panthers RB DeAngelo Williams - This ties into the Stewart recommendation above but it's worth mentioning again. Williams is doubtful and even if he does try to give it a go, he's one play away from watching the game from the sidelines. Don't risk it and keep Williams on your bench.
Honorable Mention: Rams QB Sam Bradford
