Welcome to the Week 8 Starts and Sits, NFC South version. The Atlanta Falcons are off this week but the rest of their division plays on as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers visit the Arizona Cardinals. Which players will make solid fantasy plays and which ones should you leave on your bench? We deliver the answers in easy to chew, bite-sized pieces.
Start
Buccaneers RB LeGarrette Blount - Blount had 11 carries for 72 yards last week and appears to have wrested the starting job away from Cadillac Williams. Blount faces the Cardinals this week who have allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing running backs. There's some risk that Williams' splits carries, but if Blount sees 15-18 touches, he's in for a big day.
Honorable Mention: Buccaneers WR Mike Williams
Sit
Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald - You never bench your studs. I understand this and I'm not 100% certain I would be able to pull the trigger on this recommendation if I owned Fitz. Having said that, the numbers are what they are. Fitzgerald has not reached 100 yards this season and has only scored two touchdowns. If you have a comparable option, it may be time to reconsider Fitzgerald's stud status.
Honorable Mention: Cardinals RB Beanie Wells
Note: These recommendations focus on fringe players who should outperform or underperform their season averages.
