The New Orleans Saints come off an impressive win at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers and find themselves only a half game back in the race for the NFC South. The Carolina Panthers continue to work hard for the number one pick in the 2011 NFL Draft as they sit at 1-6 on the season. They've also only scored 85 points this year. That's 12.1 points per game. Wow. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are tied for the division lead at 5-2. This may seem like a surprise to many. Not to me. Let's revisit what I said in September in my NFC South predictions column.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (10-6) – If you skipped to the end, save your laughter and get caught up on the crazy NFC South trends. I don’t know HOW it will happen; I only know that it WILL happen. The Bucs earn a playoff berth.

The Falcons and the Bucs will add some clarity to the race when thy meet next week and the Saints will get a chance to keep the train moving the right direction when they play the Panthers.
