NFL power rankings lists from CBS, ESPN, NBC, and so forth are dragging along even more slowly than usual this week, so let's go with what we've got. We can expect to see the Patriots on top of any reasonable list, though a closer look at the numbers suggests the Pats might not stay on top much longer. Not that Bill Belichick is impressed by six wins anyway.
Pro Football Talk likes the Patriots, Ravens, and Colts, with the Giants and Falcons leading the NFC. The Steelers at sixth is the lowest ranking I've seen for them in a long time -- seems like a very aggressive drop after a tough road game. PFT's note on the Falcons:
Don't laugh, but the NFC's best game of the week involves the Falcons hosting the Buccaneers.
It's hard not to laugh when the Falcons are about to be so across-the-board outclassed by the most dominant collection of professionals the Western world has seen since Standard Oil. Meanwhile NE Patriots Draft, which confounds us each week with its domain name specificity, also found the time to put together a power rankings list, retaining the Steelers as the league's second-best team and placing the Falcons fourth in the NFC behind the Saints, Packers, and Giants.
