The Carolina Panthers did not get the memo that they were supposed to lose by 50 in this one. They were within one score, 20-13, at the start of the fourth quarter before Brian St. Pierre turned into…well, Brian St. Pierre. The former stay-at-home Dad threw two interceptions that were returned for touchdowns and the Ravens pulled away late to move to 7-3 on the season.
The Panthers had great production from backup running back, Mike Goodson. Goodson, subbing for the injured DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart, ran for 120 yards on 22 carries and added 31 yards through the air.
The Ravens’ Joe Flacco was impressive connecting on 24 of 33 passes for 301 yards and one touchdown. The ground game struggled though Ray Rice did score his second touchdown of the season.
The Atlanta Falcons still have the Panthers on their schedule twice this season and this performance means the Falcons can probably tally two more wins to their total before the season is out.
