When Atlanta Falcons cornerback Dunta Robinson collided with DeSean Jackson in Week 6, both players left with a concussion and Robinson was fined $50K. It’s been three weeks and neither player is back on the field. AOL Fanhouse reports that Robinson, who is appealing the fine, is still not cleared to practice.
This news is a bit surprising since after the Cincinnati Bengals game in Week 7, the Falcons came out and said that Robinson could have played but was held out due to a knee injury. Now we get the news that he missed practice on Monday and hasn’t even been cleared from the concussion. Obviously, the Falcons organization isn’t exactly free-flowing with injury information so we may not have a definitive answer until we see No. 23 take the field on Sunday.
Nickel back Christopher Owens has been starting in Robinson’s absence with Brian Williams taking over for Owens. The Falcons’ pass defense has dipped to 27th in the league allowing 260.3 yards per game.
