Rookie linebacker Sean Weatherspoon will miss his third straight game – and fourth overall – with a knee injury. Stephen Nicholas will get the start alongside Mike Peterson and Curtis Lofton. Including the bye week, Weatherspoon has had over a month to heal the knee injury. His presence is missed in the passing game and the Falcons have dropped to near the bottom of the league at least in part to his absence. The Falcons are 2-1 in games without Weatherspoon.
The defensive line depth of the Falcons is obvious this week with both Lawrence Sidbury and Trey Lewis inactived. The rest of the names are usuals on gameday.
