Bucs-Falcons Game Update: Falcons Are All About Long Drives

The Falcons took the opening kickoff and ran 13 plays and took almost seven minutes off the game clock while taking an early 7-0 lead. Matt Ryan was four-for-five for 33 yards passing. Michael Turner carried eight times for 28 yards and the two-yard touchdown. Jason Snelling led the receivers with two catches for 11 yards while Tony Gonzalez caught one pass for 15 yards and Roddy White added one catch for seven yards.

The play-by-play:

Eric Weems kick return to 39-yard line. Michael Turner first carry for one yard. Turner again for three yards. Tony Gonzalez converted on third-down with a 15 yard catch. Roddy White made his 55th catch of the year, coming off the NFC Player of the Month, gaining seven yards. Turner carried on first down for one yard. On third-and-two, a pass slips through White’s extended fingers. On fourth-and-two, Jason Snelling picks up the first down on a pass from Matt Ryan for four yards. On the eighth play of the drive, Turner picked up four yards. The Falcons are second in the NFL with 14 drives over five minutes. They’ve also scored 60 points on those drives. Snelling caught a screen pass for seven yards and then Turner blasted through for eight yards. Turner carried on the 11th play of the drive for three yards to give the Falcons a first and goal. Turner carried again down to the two yard line. Turner carries off the right side for a two-yard touchdown.
