Surely you're all still in mourning about last night's ending of Brett Favre's 297-game starts streak, which began shortly after he was traded away from the Atlanta Falcons. Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning is the new streak-leader with 205, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Ronde Barber leads the NFC with 179.
↵When new Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff rode into town in 2008, he famously cleaned house, packing up several beloved vets. So the Falcon with the longest starts streak probably isn't all that impressive, right?
↵INCORRECT! Center Todd McClure has now cranked out 141 straight starts, setting the team record in week one against the Pittsburgh Steelers. McClure is nipping at Washington Redskins LB London Fletcher's heels for third place -- Fletcher has 164. There may also be somebody in between McClure and Fletcher, but darn that! I don't know if there is or not, and cannot seem to find the information.
↵McClure was drafted from LSU by the Falcons in 2000, and is among the team's most important players.
