The Philadelphia Eagles-New York Giants game didn’t turn out quite how the Atlanta Falcons fan would’ve preferred, but at least the Baltimore Ravens gave the Birds a break by beating the New Orleans Saints 30-24.
The Saints were driving to take the lead with about two minutes to go, but an interception from QB Drew Brees to DT Cory Redding in New Orleans territory set up Baltimore to run down the clock and kick a field goal with seconds left.
The Saints are still a very good bet to make the playoffs, but Atlanta’s No. 1 seed is just a little bit more secure. The Falcons still need to take care of business today against the Seattle Seahawks. With a win today, Atlanta would need to drop both of its remaining games to lose home field advantage. Philly’s now in the home field advantage discussion, but that would take a little bit more complex of a scenario. More playoff. breakdowns to come.
