So: the rare walk-off punt return just happened to complete the Philadelphia Eagles unbelievable comeback over the New York Giants, as WR DeSean Jackson ran the ball back to give Philly the NFC East lead. Jackson makes amazing plays every week, but this one might be the play of the year so far. Have you ever seen anything like this?
Well, kind of. Just not with the stakes quite that large. In Deion Sanders first game with the Atlanta Falcons, he dropped a punt return on the ground only to pick it up, find his bearings in traffic, and sprint for a long touchdown run. It didn't have very many playoff repercussions, but it's a lasting image around these parts (2:20 mark):
Here's hoping Jackson can't pull that off in Atlanta in the playoffs. Face it, y'all. Embrace the storyline. Michael Vick is coming to the Georgia Dome. Not set in stone by any means, but doesn't it feel inevitable right now?
